I've been told that Delta, Airtran, United and AA all have voluntary funds - any truth to that?
Thanks!
From personal experience...Delta provided non-rev travel benefits to me throughout and for my family for a period of time (I think it was 12 months). DAL also kept my clock ticking towards seniority, pay, benefits, etc, throughout (which ended up being 6 years). DAL also aggressively pursued placing furloughed pilots into non-furloughed staff positions.
Through DALPA, DAL pilots provided medical/dental benefits until we could find/afford other alternatives.
Being furloughed sucks. IMHO, DAL made it as manageable as possible.
