Being furloughed sucks. IMHO, DAL made it as manageable as possible.

Credit for time served on furlough was a contractual item. It was not given by management to assist furloughed pilots. It was a hard fought contract item. Delta was the first airline to achieve this and most still don't have it. It created a larger pay raise for many NWA pilots with the merger by changing their year group for pay. It allowed furlough pilots to come back to higher pay rates at Delta.
