One ATR had 5 air interrupts in a week (DFW ATR guys know what I'm talking about). I think ATR block hours in DFW are going to be cut because it hasn't been as reliable in DFW as it is in SJU and MIA. Some of the write-ups are legit and others are just pure BS. That's my .02.
If the Captian can write it up, he has a responsibility to do so. We have gotten so used to "failed in flight" that we are losing sight of what should be done. I flew with said captain and every write-up while trivial was definitely legit. If it is nothing then maintenance will close with a "noted" or something like that. If we don't write all these little things up they add up to make a day's worth of maintenance. Not to mention the lives put to risk for some of these write-ups. I don't want to start a fight in any means, just stating my perspective on passenger safety. I hope all ends well with this "imminent furlough".
