FWIW, this may be a good indications of possible high end buyouts.
I don't think they can contractually (not without a LOA to include DALN pilots in the AE) or legally per FAR, do a AE ahead of SOC in anticipation of post SOC position awards. Even if we get the contractual OK, the FAR's may be sticking point.
This would drive the rumored base realignment bid until early 10', which might also account for wanting to keep movement around the system to a minimum for now to avoid pilots with multiple aircraft training cycles in a short time frame.
Also the demographics of the ANC base "300" is ~100 relatively junior SO's, ~70 "older" pilots on LTS, and the balance between very senior Captains and F/O's. Between a early buy out and implementation of trip rig and DALS ALV/TLV's they could absorb a large percentage of the base without a lot of need for displacements.
Throw in a reduction in 88 ALV's and increase in other NB flying and we are short staffed.....
