S/O pay is higher than all categories up to the 767 ER. As of 1/1/09...
747 S/O..............$118.13 per hour
767 F/O ER .........$114.73 per hour
(Yes, 747 s/o's make more than 767/757 F/O's. It's been that way for a long time on the NWA side, but those days are coming to an end.)
I know the position is going away, but if it is still biddable if and when you get bumped, I would hate to see you lose pay protection over an oversite like that.
You would think the union would post some warnings for us in these turbulent times. Like maybe an AE strategy guide instead of 7 emails to tell me when my $10 bonus is going to be paid out.

All of this is very confusing to say the least..... I wasn't very clear before I don't think. The contract pay protects you between your current position and the highest payong position you can hold.
So if you are a 757 FO (and this is the highest category you can hold) and get bumped out but elect to go to the -9 instead of the bus (OK I know you either flunked bidding or are crazy but) you will get the difference between 757 and bus pay added to you -9 rate.
But for someone like me who is a 744 FO (but can hold -9 CA) and elects to be displaced to the 757 or 330 I get nothing. Because I could have actually displaced to a higher paying position than what I currently hold its "no soup for me"
