If you have a trip that is longer than your seven day block (in this instance) and it falls over your vacation, the entire trip is dropped. You can make up the difference (within 5 hrs) on your own or roll the dice and see if the company can backfill your available days when the trip doesn't touch your vacation.

What do you need to make up? Do you only get paid for the days that the trip actually touches your vacation? The trip days that don't touch your vacation need to be made up?
If the 10 day trip, (60hrs @6/day to make it simple) only touches 4 days of your vacation... Do you get paid 24hrs for the trip/vacation conflict days, plus 9 (3 hrs a day) for the vacation days that don't conflict? That's a total of 33 hrs in this instance.
