I enter how many bags (and what kind of bags, STD, HVY or Carry On), how many passengers in each zone, how much takeoff fuel I will have and then I send that via ACARS and it just spits out all my numbers right there. The ramp brings me a bag sheet, the flight attendant gives me her count and we verify that with the gate agent and/or ramp to make sure everyone has the count right. Now, this is regional flying - but I'm curious as to how the majors do it. I've never seen a FA bring a 767 captain a "count" of the passengers and a breakdown of where they are sitting, and I sure as hell have never seen an F/O break out a whiz wheel. haha
