You're giving the flying public too much credit on their perception skills, and too much emphasis on whether or not they're going to give a crap.
That use to be the way. I have had 5 people call me this week asking me questions about everything that they are seeing on the news. Talking about driving for vacations this summer instead of flying. I think you would be surprised if you paid a little attention as to just how much in tune those people that keep food on your table really are.
For once the media is doing OK on this one, and Death is a pretty good persuasion for the traveling public to us their perception skills.
