Either way, just do not show up to work if you even think you have a hangover. It is that simple.
That is why I am firmly in the camp of just don't drink, especially on a trip. I saved my captains a lot of money that first year by not drinking. Diet Coke and wasser mit gas is much cheaper than beer in Europe.
