This goes beyond the gnomes within the company who were on duty denying culpability an leaving the crew to hang. You have a duty officer at a party. He could have been imbibing in spirits, which could impair his judgment, and coercing a crew to violate, company and foreign regulations pertaining to safety of operations relating to health issues, and legal documents.

I’m not familiar with CAL’s operations, but at our airline, when the tug is disconnected, we are en-route, thus the voyage begins. Also, at our carrier, the SOC, who has no operational control. The SOC compiles all information relating to a specific situation, and brings the duty officer up to speed. You all know how the rest of the situation should be played out.

How can phone calls, in a technological up to date operation, not be recorded? In lieu of a recording, how can a call log be lost not completed, when it relates to issues as important as this.

You think the FAA would be impressed with how this situation was managed.

A job well done to the crew who refused to cave to such incompetence!
