Mesaba needs to get their maintenance and materials departments in check..seriously. They've been complaining to DCI and Delta that when they break a plane somewhere that we're not helping out by either selling or loaning them parts!

I've actually gotten into phone arguments because we won't give up our last part in stock to help them out. Hey I'm willing to be a team player and help out if I've got enough parts in stock to help out, but I'm not going to take mx cancellations due to not having the part I need because we gave our last one to Mesaba! DCI has been forcing us to be a crutch for them for too long now. They need to start utilizing their parts and repair vendors as well as Bombardier like everyone else. Heck all those 900's are under warrenty! If something breaks; Bombardier is supposed to replace it free of charge. It's good that we're all able to help one another out in times of need, but jeez...don't abuse the help.
Man I need another beer!
Not surprised unfortunately. I'd say our line mechs are really good but as you go up the ladder towards the bean counters things degrade quickly. We'd go several days at a time with 602 down when we had just the one new 200 during the bankruptcy because we didn't have any parts. I was talking to a Comair 700 captain in DTW a couple weeks ago cause he was stuck waiting for a part to be flown up from CVG. He said that they couldn't get the part from Mesaba becuase we didn't have the part (somthing in the gear bay fire detect loop) Granted this is from a line pilot so who knows, but he did get about a 6 hour airport appreciation break to start his day.
