Just my 2 cents, carry on.
Gonna say this post seems most likely. I don't understand why they would be pulling Saabs when they can make a lot of money on them. Unless the Saab just isn't classy enough for Delta or they have ran out of good close cities to the hubs that will not make money. EAS routes don't necessarily mean guaranteed money. If these routes are expected to be full the guaranteed money will be low. No sense in overloading the server over speculation from the Harrison Daily Times. When New York Times reports, it's time freak out!

I wouldn't be freaking out too much about gas either. Nearly every airline Has been taking Huge fuel hedge losses because they guessed wrong. Unless it goes back to past summer rates. A lot of the fuel inefficiency everyone talks about on 200's is opportunity cost against 7/900's. If you put a 200 in the right market at the right distance it will make money. You could put a DC-8 on the right market and make money when you charge the right price! Plus your not going to see Delta ditch all these 200 markets and let everyother airline pick up the business. Just not gonna happen to the extent everyone thinks/hopes. Everyday Delta is showing to be Northwest in a new uniform. They will bleed til they can't any more Northwest is ruthless with protecting routes.
