And one has to make the jump to a Legacy sometime. If you're feeling cozy in your FO spot at a regional wait to you get to CA and start making more money. If DAL drops the F-Bomb and I hit the street, I'll find a way to support my family. It will most likely be OUTSIDE of aviation because I don't want to work at the bottom of a regional list, and I will also view it as an opportunity to take a break from flying and spend more time with my family. I have ZERO regrets about leaving my regional and coming to
DAL-N, and I think it will pay off very shortly. JMHO.

I really admire your attitude. I'm a regional FO and would certainly leave this place in a heart beat for a better major like Delta. Even if forlough was inevitable. Granted I don't have a family to support so this is all just one man's thoughts. Everyones situation is different. I'd use the time away from flying to bartend or something and "chase muff around the pool". As soon as the market goes up and 401k's are worth jack/age 65 plays you'll be back in action better then ever. On that note, best of luck to all the folks that can't afford the break.
