You know, there could be some truth to this rumor. Remember, Delta is abandoning the BOS-BWI and BOS-PHL routes (all flown by Comair, btw) beginning in mid-August. Thats 12 or 13 round-trips, all 50-seaters. That will make some extra space in BOS.
If that is the case, why would 3825ing DL shift manpower and equiepment to a station they are downsizing to begin with?.
