The VOR's have names, so when you dial in the freguency (yes, you physically have to do it) the DME will tell you how far away you are from the VOR. Try it on the 767/757. Push that "Auto" button to "Man" and work it baby!!!
That is OK we have to do that on the 88 too. If we do not the FMS will not know where it is!
