I could have told the Air Force about his leadership skills/style 10 years ago and saved them a lot of money and embarrassment. You always hear stories about how the "good guys" always finish last in the AF & military. Finally, one of the "not so good guys" gets what he deserves.
As a side note...each one of my former squadron mates who I have told about this has been just a giddy as I have. This guy was out for himself 10 years ago, and I imagine he still was, up until the day that he was fired.
Fly safe.
I read about this guy on Baseops and he certainly seems like a giant D-bag. The military is full of em but so is every other company in life. There is good and bad in the military, unfortunetly, some of the bad is going to make it to the top. The last, worst leader (I use that term very losely with this guy) I've experienced was a TW Commodore. Absolutely horrible, sounded a lot like the guy in the article. Then his replacement, a Marine, is the exact opposite..one of the best leaders I've seen. I've served under D-bag CAG's and rock solid CAG's. Same with Commanding Officers...absolutely amazed some made it to where they are. That's life though. I'm at 16 years, 3 months and have served with some fine people, both enlisted and officers. To paint those in the military as overall bad is ignorant at best. Bad experiences are often made worse by bad attitudes and poor performance. Usually those with poor performance blame that performance on something else, like the environment around them.
