Actually, these days (as in, right now) aviation insurance is pretty weak as competition is high between brokers & underwriters for business.

Everything, from premium to pilot experience, is negotiable and underwriters are accepting a client's business at conditions they NEVER would have even considered a few years ago.

But yeah, most carriers in my experience DEMAND 12 (or possibly 24 month) simulator training.
