Delta is showing right now that ANY way they can cut airframes they are doing so, doesn't matter if it's a Saab or 747. If a lease is up the plane is gone. With the loss in court against Mesa that leaves Compass, Comair, and Mesaba as the easiest/cheapest place to make more cuts if needed. They can cut block hours (and subsuquently need less pilots) easiest at the W/O's. We have been told that Saab and 200 hours are decreasing and 900 is staying steady in the fall. It's been said over and over that there WILL be cuts in the DCI family. There will be less companies flying for Delta in the near future. The question is who stays and who goes.
If you plan for the worst case scenario then anything better is a bonus. If you plan for the best case scenario then if it doesn't pan out you're in trouble.
