I see the guys that are already on the street starting to see reality that they will not be called back anytime soon, if ever. Most will move on to bigger and better things outside of part 121.
The guys that are in the 3 to 5 year range are all now being put in jeopardy of a furlough staring them in the face.
Then there are all of the downgrade guys that were downgraded into senior FO positions and were enjoying a nice schedule since they were holding lines and not sitting reserve as junior Captains. Those guys now will trickle down to be the junior FO's and be on reserve as an FO and some will quit.
And then there are the senior folks that have already been complaining about how they can't hold the schedules that they have held after 15 years with the company. Those guys are going to be trickling back to be reserve CA's and some of those guys will quit.
I think Delta is succeeding with their plan. It sucks, but I think it is all in their plan to dismantle Comair. These furloughs are going to happen and then when the airline gets small enough they will merge it with another entity and the people on furloughs will most likely never be given their jobs back.
Please remember that IMSAFE checklist that you learned about in your primary flight training. I think the moral has gotten so low that you guys are going to have to look out for each other. As in, you might feel fit to fly, but the guy next to you may not and have no other choice but to come to work with his head on backwards.
Good luck! I'll keep praying for you guys.
Not only dismantle Comair, but make Mesaba the regional of choice for Northwest uhh I mean "Delta".
