Someone several posts back stated the same thing about 8 years. Of the folks that I know that have gone back to flying (myself included) were out less than 2 years. The big hurdle is lack of training slots, I think most airframes if you are out more than 5 years you need to go through intial training all over again. What ever the situation I wish you luck in the process.
