You should be in the high 300s, low 400s. It is based on your salary earned the 12 months prior to your furlough. The formula States use is simple, they take the last 3 quarters of your employment, look at how much you and your employer paid towards unem bennies, (I believe they adjust it up somehow), then divide it by 26 weeks, and that's what you're getting. A few other points of interest, the feds increased payment by 25 dls p/week, so regardless of the amount you are getting from the State, you'll get an extra 25 dls weekly -beer money-. And also, the feds have extended the 26 weeks by another 26 weeks. So you could go an entire year collecting unemployment (I'd rather die, but the option is there).
One last item, go to your local unemployment website and start there first. In their questionnare they'll ask you about working out of State. Fill that up truthfully and let them do the leg work for you. The reason for this is simple, I don't know which one is your home State, but some of them are higher than NYS -MA for example pays out up to the 600s per week-. If I remember correctly, your home State will calculate how much you'll be getting from them and NYS. They could be the same amount, but they could also be like in my case, not the same. NYS paid me and extra 75 dls more than my home State -go figure-, but I took it. Hope I didn't forget anything. Any other question, I'd be happy to answer, posted it or PM me. I'll answer eventually. Driving thru AZ and CA with a minivan full with my kids.........................vodka where are you?.
Good Luck...........
