I guess its my naivety, but i don't understand why Delta (or insert mainline of your choice) needs "regional airlines" anyway. I don't see why an airline can't fly everything from a Saab to a 747-400. I guess in my opinon (what ever thats worth) it would slow the rush to the bottom. It would allow managment to use whichever fleet type to cover routes. Furthermore, with the whole contract carrier issue that the colgan crash brought to the public light, it would have a better perception in the public eye. I know there are flaws in my theory. I know that there are guys who consider us regional guys all 250 wonders and second class underqualified pilots. I just think it makes sense..... but who am I...... back to mom"s basement....... she cuts the crust off my sandwiches
