The real problem for AMR is the 100-140 seat void. Sometimes what they aren't talking about is more important than what they are.
The membership may be solid, but the leadership is wandering around the airport looking for a usable runway. Again, their rudderlessness has jeopardized success by creating many who advocate snapping the tail off just so they can scream victory as they spiral down to fatal impact.
The void you refer to isn't an issue. It's still too large to support profitable frequency against the competitions regionals who fly upwards of 70-76 seats. If it were viable, AMR would have kept the F-100's around............they didn't.
