I also know you mainline junior guys are worried about losing your jobs. EVERY junior guy at EVERY major airline is worried about losing their jobs. Why do you bring this up?
Right now the regional guys ARE losing their jobs. And I am so sick and tired of mainline guys thinking ALL regional guys are second rate 250 wonders. How does having 250 hours lessen the blow of getting furloughed than a guy who has 25,000 hours? I don't get your argument? It's lame.
Yes you've been burned. I don't deny that. This past post of yours was just a venting session you needed to write to make yourself feel better. Lose the chip on your shoulder and move on. Let’s work together. There's a new generation of pilots now and there's no reason we should be living in the past. Lose your pride and get on the bandwagon to fight for better contracts, better QOL, better working conditions, better wages, etc.
PS, don’t worry, we will always remember the crap you guys took after 9/11. So, we don't need any more lectures on it.
Maybe my post subject line should have said "How can we all work together and move on from the past?"
Please....I can't help that you don't see the big picture, your short sighted posts are telling.
Where was your call for unity for the few thousand of American pilots STILL furloughed since 9/11? United pilots who are STILL on the streets and have been furloughed numerous times? DAL pilots who were furloughed? CAL pilots who are PRESENTLY furloughed? AirTran pilots who were furloughed earlier this year? Other regional pilots who have RECENTLY been furloughed?
If you can not fit the pieces together on why the past matters, then you need to evaluate why you want unity. Is it for selfish reasons? You see your airline furloughing, therefore we all must stand behind your pain, right? You see your career progression severely affected, therefore we must stand behind you, right? Get over yourself! I hate anyone being furloughed, but as I said, protecting mainline jobs is priority #1. FWIW, I believe DAL will furlough next year. But to RA's credit, he has done a lot to avoid a furlough so far. That doesn't mean I trust what he says.
As for your 250 hr response...I guess lawmakers see the value of at least having, at minimum, an ATP to get hired.
