[quote=RichieAshburn;658177]If your goal is unity, then why don't you push for all branded flying to be done by pilots on DAL's seniority list? That's what I'd like to see. Be it a Saab, CRJ, ERJ, 320, 777, 747 or anything in between. Also, I'd like to see DAL's hiring mins and requirements(no SLI or staple). This would solve your prior post about bottom feeder contract carriers, because there would not be any!
This is a good comment. This is the way it SHOULD have been from the beginning. This is the way it is done at Lufthansa and at Air Canada. The current system under the DAL management only breeds disunity amongst pilots. Divide and conquer philosophy has been around for a very long time and the Brits have used it very successfully during their heyday while pillaging India, China and other parts of the world.
One thing I would like to point out is that this current reductions of wholly owned DCI carriers such as Mesaba and Comair is NOT going to add more jobs at DAL. If you take a poll right now among experienced senior NWA and DAL pilots, majority of them will tell you that there is a very strong indication that DAL wants to operate with less than 12,500 pilots. Closer to around 10,000 pilots is what I am hearing. Take a look at current routes such as DTW to AUS or DTW/MEM to SLC to AUS to BOI etc. These were all DAL mainline routes that are now being flown by 76 RJs and instead of decreasing, they are on the rise.
