The bus option was attempted and they could not get one....a Delta diversion took them up. FBO??? And have them stand where in Level 4 thunderstorms....keep in mind the field was CLOSED. I think this statement is very eye opening, and the crew did a great job. Maybe the result was not desireable, but nobody got hurt and everybody is okay.
The other options were:
1. Take off into severe weather.
2. Deplane with NO airstairs (risk injuries)
3. Deplane and have pax standing on a concrete ramp surrounded by metal poles in a lightning storm.
The crew did the right thing.
