Yeah, but 61.183 does not make a distinction between AMEL and AMES. It just says a flight instructor with a multiengine rating. So as 250 suggested, I think that the class is just AME. Like he said though, it would probably be worth a call to the FSDO just to be sure.
And I think that his MEI would just be to proficiency so it wouldn't require 3 hours.
