From the perspective of the two guys in my unit I mentioned it's a beautiful thing. They're both about ready to retire w/ a full AD style retirement after about a 50/50 split AD/AGR. I say, if you can do it then do it. All the great things about the Guard w/ a retirement that starts paying right away. What's not to like?
