Dojetdrvr,

In Ch 11 BK, many, many things were lost that AA pilots still have. I think you can understand the fact that UAL and DAL pilots probably exchanged several good things in their pre BK contracts in exchange for full j/s reciprocity. While the company is indeed in hostage-taking mode during a BK process, the fact of the matter is that the entire pilot contract is pretty much gutted and replaced with a far inferior contract. Sure, they got their j/s policy changed, but at what cost?

What I'm getting at is - we are NOT in Ch 11, we are in very serious contract talks, a high stakes game where the smallest exchange can set off a huge chain reaction. In essence, UAL and DAL pilots exchanged their j/s policy for God knows what. We are NOT willing to address anything other than pay and QOL issues right now. They are BY FAR the most important things on the agenda, and if it means inconveniencing some pilots with commuting issues, I'm sure they would MUCH RATHER have us set a huge industry leading contract that sets the bar for the rest of us. The j/s issue here at AA will get worked out when the other, more important issues are dealt with first. At least that is how I see it.

It's very easy to sit there behind a computer screen and point fingers at something YOU deem can be fixed very easily. But at what cost? I don't deny the fact that our j/s experience is the most user friednly out there, not by a long shot. I am one of the pilots inconvenienced by it when I j/s on my own airline!

Let's not lose focus on what's really at stake here. We are attempting to raise the bar for all airline pilots.
