aa73,
I did end up taking the AA flight home. Captain approached me in the gate area, talked with me for a long time. He didn't talk down to me like a few mainline pilots do sometimes. Super nice. He also came over later and said he'd try to get me up front but it was looking full. I thanked him profusely for the offer, but I saw at least one AA F/A, a DAL F/A and a couple UAL F/As that were in the back so I didn't want to take it had it been available. I was impressed he offered it though. First time ever.
One of the flight attendants on board was the same one that took me home a few weeks ago. I remember her because she was mean to me. The other one was super sweet and I didn't say anything to the forward F/A other than the usual "Hi I'm so and so, and I'm sitting in such and such, so if you need something give me a shout, I'd be glad to help."
All and all it was a good flight. Had a row to myself, and got in 30 minutes early. I was very impressed by the Captain. He told me not to bother coming up to the flight deck as we had talked previously, but I said hey to the F/O while boarding. Seemed like a nice chap.
It was AA1637 ORD-ATL if you know the guy. Class act.
