Airdale says
And, if pilot pay is such a small piece of the pie (which I agree with you on btw), then why were you and other Midwest pilots pointing fingers at the Republic pilots for undercutting your wages and stealing your jobs?
If pilot pay really didn't matter, as you say, than wasn't your argument null?[/quote]
Pilot pay matters to me, a pilot, trying to earn a respectable living!
Do I care about CASM and my part of it? Not really.
I can't control any of those things. Macro wise.
Any excess not put in your paycheck goes to the bottom line. Like to buy other airlines.
What do you say when a first year MEH Fo made $4 more /hr. than a scaled out RAH pilot flying essentially the same equip.?
Again, I think we all realize that it is not the pilots fault. At least I do.
You have been coerced into a corner by your shoot from the hip mgmt.
Unfortunately for you, you are just a pawn in the grand scheme.
You should decide to remove yourself from the situation or resolve to fight to correct the imbalance that has developed. I will guess you will choose to fight, and in that case you will need a lot of tenacity and patience because you have such a long way to go.
Please just dont expect the people who fed their families with a job that closely resembles the job that you currently perform to sit back and blow bubbles and sunshine up your a$$. Especially when every possible comment or statement has to be refuted by one of the members of your group.
I will agree that some of the statements made by persons on this board are over the top and uncalled for. I make no apologies for those.
