No, I don't believe that's probable based on the actual facts (and not speculation). 78 minutes of no ATC communication. They flew straight and level until another flight crew was able to raise them on the frequency that they were last known to be on (in Denver Center airspace).
Then, ATC vectored them around a bit to see if the crew could follow directions.
