Having a flying job, even if it is one that you feel is not worth staying at, makes it more likely to be considered for a different job due to currency and other intangibles. Also, don't forget the benefit of being able to jumpseat. If someone called today asking you to come to an interview in Tulsa,OK, with jumpseat you can get there. If unemployed, its out of your pocket to travel there.
How about crashpad fees, food on the road and commuting costs? Believe me I ran all the numbers a few years ago and it was a wash. Have you checked out much RAH insurance is and how bad it is? If you start a new health insurance policy you may have to deal with pre-existing conditions and paying for medical bills because of this health insurance cop out gets real expensive when you are making McDonalds wages. If you have Obama supplied cobra relief you at least don't get stuck in the predicament of PEC. UE is good for about 2 years now.
