If you are going to come to California, I would look inland, Riverside, Corona or Redlands area. There are some nice places to live and the schools are very one on one. Bracket has a nice flying club from my understanding. Also Aero Tech FBO at Redlands Airport (REI) was just sold and seem to have a lot of students from Japan there now. Just my 2 cents...
