Best of luck to ya. There are lots of great places to visit in California in a little airplane. Have fun and enjoy your training!

You are right. The Career Pilot School ops in Lakeport are an extension of the school that is based in Kansas City. I think there are a good number of former students and maybe current instructors on this board and a few other boards. If any one has any questions on CPS, feel free to shoot me a PM!

as a very satisfied student from career pilot school i would say its a wonderful school to learn flying.I don't think any of my friends here is unhappy with the training at all.Even lake port is best place for a two day picnic , lamason field is not that busy.Sometimes its not busy at all.that is the plus point right there. When we all fly feel like airspace is so quite just for us to learn how to fly.I am here for 7 months.now i am done and time to go back.but as an international student they provide me what they promised so looking forward to come back and finish my instructor ratings. definitely recommend you to checkout Career Pilot School if you thinking about doing pilot training in California..
