I agree. When the senior pilots had the opportunity, they slammed the junior pilots every single time. That, indeed, set the standard, and it eventually gave us, among other things, the A, B, and C pay scales. In late 1979, the junior pilots started striking back by voting to get the senior guys out. Can't blame them.
Ok, we are all even; it's time to stop the infighting and get going the same direction. It is going to take tremendous solidarity to confront the forces of globalization on satisfactory terms, and the profession has not put the economic system in place to do it. The unions still think you can do it by merely jawboning "unity." It won't happen. There has to be financial incentives to cause it to happen.
