I would even be willing to give up incremental seniority on each recall to stay on the furlough list until the end.
perhaps, but the assumption is that very few furloughs will elect to come back, so it may not even be an issue.
if you're out of work with no prospects, take the recall. if you've found something else, it would think carefully about this decision. barring miraculous developments, best case you might one day get off reserve as an FO. that's about it for career expectations at Comair. if Mesa goes under (i've heard the rumors my entire 7 years at CMR) it will likely take pressure off further 50-seat reductions. all 70/90s under DAL's scope clause have been awarded, and we wouldn't get any if there were any more.
most guys here are hanging on for age 65 to hit in three years (CAL and DAL should retire 800/year for a while when it does) in the hopes that the majors will raid the regionals when they hire again. and that the 1500-hour limit to get hired at a regional (the FAA is kicking that around) and empty flight schools will result in a mass exodus/mass upgrade for those that are left. hope springs eternal.
if you've found a job that pays the same or more or you can log PIC in anything, i think coming back would be pretty risky, but in any case, do what you think is right, and ignore the inevitable what ifs...
