I'm still confused about the Mesa flying you are referring to?! Delta is showing interest in what flying? Are you taking about the USAirways flying operated by Mesa CRJ-900 as USAirways Express, e.g. PHX-LGB, SBA?

I'm sure Delta is always evaluating current and future routes and cities, but at this time I believe Delta is more focused on the international market, because that's where the money is.

I don't see any new flying out West or taking over Mesa routes. The Delta Connection flying is unpredictable, and since the merger we have seen quite some shifting in flying and routes which will continue into the new year. I also don't see any DCI carrier opening new bases, Comair won't open a DTW base, nor will Mesaba open a SLC base. Again, the flying is too unpretidticable and changes month to month. Remember ASA's SLC or LAX bases didn't last very long.

And since you asked for opinions, mine is that we won't see any growth on the domestic flying front, only a shift in flying. This rumor doesn't make any sense to me what so ever.
