The two things you mentioned are not related. Open time is SUPPOSED to remain open for lineholders to trade with until it is assigned to reserves in SENIORITY order. It took quite a while to convince the company to stop pre-assigning open time during the monthly award process or give it to reserves on a first-come first-served basis. However, the 3 phone calls to pick up trips IS troubling. If you get a chance PM me so I can look a bit further into this.
