When I was looking to get hired in the early 80's "D" was a "Blue Chip" company that had earned the trust & respect of its employees. Not so anymore....in my & many others opinion. I sincerely don't understand how you guys can "roll over" & not insist that you be at least brought back to ground zero financially prior to any other "foward" progress movements of this once great employee focused company.
You have a very poor understanding of the RLA and a unions function within a company. Exactly how do you think we should insist? What mechanism do you think we should use? If you buy another airline without making me whole I am going to hold my breath until I turn blue? Do you even have a clue at the financial cost to make the pilots whole and where that would leave Delta on a competitive basis with other airlines. No one at any airline is going to be made whole. Bringing the profession back is going to require a series of contracts with everyone moving up to keep the cost basis somewhat close.
