Actually, we screwed it up pretty well without the FAA's "help."
Even with the exemption to operate domestic transcon turns under supplemental 3-pilot rules, our pilots still operated more than 8 hours in the seat (see FAR 121.507 for specifics.)
Blaming the media for our problems is pretty pathetic.
