Instead of getting rid of IPA pilots that directly make the company money, get rid of "management" overhead as a better way to achieve savings while maintaining flexibility regarding pilot staffing levels. The company did announce an overall reduction of 1800 management types throughout the system. It is possible they accept the MOU and get rid of Manglers.
If they get rid of managers you can count on a furlough. Pilots will have to share the pain. They will not sacrifice managers at the expense of line crews.
