It's not about "pain" (this isn't the federal government), it's about money. The pitiful "contributions" by the managers pales in comparison to those on the table (and subject to revocation by THEIR hand) from us. All they're looking for from us is the possibility of a fear based give back induced by this current delay tactic. Word is Leadpipes has a cross burning to attend until mid/late next week. Once ATL realizes they are going to get 90-92% (depending on your accounting method) now, and perhaps the rest in the fall they'll wisely take the cash and then prepare for what they hope are early contract openers via what will then be an empty and hollow threat in the fall. Do you actually think that the groundsiders in ATL regard any of the FQM's (many of them ex-IPA and ALL make over 200K) with even 10% more loyalty than they do us? Oh my...

In the meantime they can get IMMEDIATE savings from firing manglers now, and scare the remaining into good dogs that would actively fight any attempts to bring them onto our list. Then hire select ones back (at cheaper deals) after the current economy improves...or better yet, make them work the sort to learn how real UPSr's really work.
