Hey Bored, I am not overly sensitive. This is an aviation forum that attracts all kinds of people. It's your way of coming across on this forum. Before you get defensive, I am not saying you are rude or anything, it's your tone on every one of your post. Maybe its the nature of this forum unlike face to face conversation where you can express yourself more comprehensively. I can't tell whether you are being facetious or being serious. You are definitely better than some on this forum, otherwise I would not even bother addressing this issue with you.

I respect your differing views, I have no problems with it. After all you and I are both at XJ, more in common than the other people at different carriers. I also know you are a bit jaded, rightfully so, and angry at XJ management for their hostile attitude towards its employees in the past. You've been warning everyone here about being cautious and not becoming overly optimistic, and you were right about that.

No I do not necessarily think DCI stands to gain anything out of this JAL/DAL talk, if anything. I was optimistic for a while in 2008 but as you know, the way things are turning out, it does not look good. I am also not sure things will be good for DAL pilots in 2010 either. JAL deal will benefit DAL as a corporation but whether it will be good for DAL pilots is a question mark. With the way DAL is getting emersed in joint venture schemes with foreign carriers like Air France and JAL, DAL can gain benefits of sharing profits from international lift without necessarily providing growth for DAL pilot group here in the US.

Looks like time to update resumes. Oh, well, Gotta get back to painting my garage.
