DCI carrier contracts

Wow... you're pretty sensitive aren't you lighteningspeed? I am not condescending, but direct. I hate reading through BS to get to the point. I hate it when people dress rumors, conjecture and predictions up and pass them off as fact. So, I'm sorry if you misinterpret my posts. And before you get all defensive and fire back at me for accusing you of doing the above things, I'm not. I'm just telling you the point of view I approach this message board from.
Getting back on topic... the way I interpreted your recent post was that you believe there will be a massive requirement for feed at the DCI level because DL would be growing because of the deal with JAL. When you said DL would be "Gaining a good deal of international routes to US and Europe," I took that as meaning major growth. To which I replied in other words, I wouldn't get so ahead of yourself in thinking DL was going to essentially take over JAL.
I see now that you meant DL stands to gain by an anti trust agreement between DL/JAL which builds on the already existing JV with AF/KLM. Many of that growth would come through code sharing, especially on the routes that DL couldn't legally fly on their own. My point still remains... while DL may stand to gain a bit from JL entering Skyteam, I think it will be at the expense of the interport network. I also don't think there will be appreciable growth in the domestic market, to support JALs entry into Skyteam, therefore negating any major increase in feed by DCI.
For real man... it's ok for people to disagree with you. That's what a discussion is all about. Relax. Maybe you can learn from another point of view. And as for the plans for DCI... nobody knows but the people in ATL.

Hey Bored, I am not overly sensitive.
This is an aviation forum that attracts all kinds of people. It's your way of coming across on this forum. Before you get defensive, I am not saying you are rude or anything, it's your tone on every one of your post. Maybe its the nature of this forum unlike face to face conversation where you can express yourself more comprehensively. I can't tell whether you are being facetious or being serious. You are definitely better than some on this forum, otherwise I would not even bother addressing this issue with you.
I respect your differing views, I have no problems with it. After all you and I are both at XJ, more in common than the other people at different carriers. I also know you are a bit jaded, rightfully so, and angry at XJ management for their hostile attitude towards its employees in the past.
You've been warning everyone here about being cautious and not becoming overly optimistic, and you were right about that.
No I do not necessarily think DCI stands to gain anything out of this JAL/DAL talk, if anything. I was optimistic for a while in 2008 but as you know, the way things are turning out, it does not look good. I am also not sure things will be good for DAL pilots in 2010 either. JAL deal will benefit DAL as a corporation but whether it will be good for DAL pilots is a question mark. With the way DAL is getting emersed in joint venture schemes with foreign carriers like Air France and JAL, DAL can gain benefits of sharing profits from international lift without necessarily providing growth for DAL pilot group here in the US.
Looks like time to update resumes. Oh, well, Gotta get back to painting my garage.

For the record... I'm over all the BS we've experienced in the past at XJ. It's all behind us and I still remain optimistic for the future of XJ. This is not the end of the world and it's not going to be this way forever.
