The pa-32's, and especially the T-Tail Lance, needs extra airspeed for the flare when landing with an engine out. The best glide speed to typical touchdown speed can cause gear damage due to the increased descent rate, which may be what happened to this guy. In my experience with this airframe, the best course of action is to pitch the nose down to increase airspeed 15 or 20 knots just prior to touchdown and bleed it off in ground effect.
