Keep in mind the ALPA lawyers will not stop an airline for voting a contact in. They are there as support for your own MEC's negotiating committee. While I doubt anyone on this forum was there for that negotiation, it could of been they either overlooked that language, didn't feel it was a threat, or management dangled a big enough carat to make that medicine easier to swallow.
In any case, it's usually up to us, the local pilots, to make a contract good or bad. To blame ALPA National is like blaming Obama because your lawn isn't green.
