In 3 years, MANY pilots will be turning 65. I think starting in 2013(sounds like a long time but it's not since I'm old). But, lots of guys will get out of the career too, so although there won't be a pilot shortage, it may become manageable. Lots of avenues to go too--Sim instruct, etc. Just stay with it and realize you may not make a ton of money, but you may make a ton of money. You're young, so that's a big plus. By the time u have your 1200tt, 200 multi, the regionals may be hiring. Then you can decide on fractionals, etc. Things will turn ariound. Back in the day there were guys on furlough with Pan Am for 15 years. This is the worst economy, I really would hope it doesn't stay like this. It won't.
