Im leaning toward a career change. Im just not sure what yet.

It seems the industry is having alot of difficulty and troubles.

Maybe a fresh mind in mangament will help.

I like the aviation feild so Im going to try and stay in it. But I dont necessarily have to be a career pilot.

Thanks
Where are you in IN? It makes a difference. I'm from the MIE area, and I graduated from PU in 04'. Industry sucked. I CFI'd in Michigan at a small airport(Y47) wedged in the metro Detroit area for 1.5yrs to build my time. The industry still sucked, so I flew freight and built 2000 hours in 20 months in C310's, which lead me to my current job and I'm happy as hell, and I'm back home where I never thought I would be.

What I'm trying to convey is you're going to have to make a sacrifice of leaving home. I took a chance and set out on my own, 1 bedroom apt on my own in a place I had never been/worked/experienced. It worked out well for me. Had I not taken that chance, I don't know where I'd be. With that said, I don't know exactly where you should go. Sim-instructor jobs are great for connections and a steady paycheck, but you're going to sacrifice actual flying. You could moonlight on the side at a FBO to keep your skills current or just to keep up in the air. There will be the seasonal jobs etc... that will start popping up for low-timers soon also.

Good luck!
