When you are furloughed you are worthless to the company, you don't work for them. Why would they give you longevity? The only thing that connects you to them is the seniority number you keep. When I was given my recall notice the CP said that I would even be under probation since I was furloughed before the 12 months.
At DAL you accrue Longevity while on furlough. I guess you technically accrue seniority, but only through attrition as there obviously isn't any hiring going on because you're on furlough.(Assuming you're NOT on by-pass recall)
